CircusFit™

Run away and join the circus with this unique class. Utilising an innovative suspended trapeze, you can develop strength, improve your coordination and learn some impressive skills. Creative, fun and challenging, CircusFit™ will creatively challenge you. A signature class developed by our very own Laura Basta, Head of Group Fitness.

Aerial Yoga

This specialty class is more than just Yoga. It’s an experience. Picture being suspended from the ceiling, in a flowing pristine hammock, performing weightless yoga moves. It’s essentially a mix of Aerial Arts & Yoga, allowing you to release all your muscle tension, bring more blood & oxygen to the brain and liberate your spine. Allows even the most mobile people to go even deeper into their body’s elasticity. Life’s good upside-down.

Urban Dance

Feel like breaking it down? Step by step, you'll learn how to integrate New School movements to the best of your ability. New dance tracks inspire and motivate and the choreography changes every week. This class is suitable for all dance levels and types.

Laura

Our very own Head of Group Fitness. Laura is a World Champion Fitness Model, "Puma" & "Women's Health" ambassador, our CircusFit™ class creator and the last female standing on the popular Netflix TV Series “Ultimate Beastmaster”.

Navin

The master of movement, Navin is certified in everything from Strength training, POSE running, Olympic lifting, Clubbells, Flowfit and Animal Flow. He believes there’s something innately joyful about learning a new skill on the rings or a fluid sequence.

Daniela

Daniela is a Certified Les Mills & Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and Competitive Powerlifter. As our resident beast, she designs strength programs for Badass females and is a sucker for a sweaty salsa dance session. If you aren't listening in class, she's not afraid to dish out burpees.

“Fitness Playground has a good variety of classes which aren’t always available at other gyms including the major chains. The variety includes anything from Yoga to Burlesque! So, if you want to try some of these classes for a reasonable membership fee, this is the gym for you! I’ve also been offered a couple free complimentary PT sessions and the trainers were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend the gym to anyone living in the inner west.”

“The range of classes that are on offer is incomparable to other gyms. The creche is amazing and so are all the trainers. They are motivating, and want to smash out the workout and do your best. Even though we complain some days (I think most people love it, we wouldn't be ozzies if we didn't, haha), it really does cater for beginners all the way through to those who are more experienced.”

What are Play Classes?

Apart from the staple class offerings like Strength, HIIT/Cardio, Fight/Boxing, Barre, Yoga & more, we believe in doing things a little differently. Imagine being in a playground, where you can be something one day, and something else the next. Play classes are for anyone, but especially those who love experimenting, meeting new people, trying the latest trend, or wanting to exercise in unconventional but interesting ways.

What should I expect in these classes?

When you arrive at your Play class, our instructors will be waiting to greet you. Their introduction will be focused on explaining the kind of class you’re in, the class format, what equipment you’ll be using (if any), and will ask if you are working with any injuries or restrictions. Class formats can be tailored to wherever you’re at in your fitness journey, no one is too new or too advanced. You’ll meet an array of instructors, all bringing a unique style to their Play classes. We do ask that you please arrive five minutes early to your class so your instructor can start on time.

What do I bring to my Play class?

We provide things like blocks, hand weights, mats, trapeze bars, silks (and more) in our studios. All that we ask is that you please bring a towel, water bottle (preferably not plastic as we’re not big on that) and a mat if you’d like to use your own. We’ll also provide the pretty studios and awesome line-up of instructors! We heavily enforce the towel policy (no towel, no play, no gym today).

What other facilities are available?

Along with our serene MindBody studios and epic Battleground studios, you’ll have full access to our gym facilities. These include our boutique bathrooms that are fitted out with showers, lockers, hair dryers, hair straighteners & botanical soaps.

Can I bring someone?

Of course! When we reach out to book you in, don’t be afraid to tell us who you’d like to bring along to your first Play class.
